The gays are smarter than we are, so they have the ability of offering us loads of great information we would otherwise go without. That's how that whole Queer Eye for the Straight Guy thing started.

He has more to offer than just directions to the nearest outlet mall!! I personally enjoy watching him! What's not to love he's fun, outgoing, interesting, smart, funny and I get a kick out of watching NOT because he's gay and maybe can't cook (?) but because he is who he is and it's FUN!
