Solome,
If you look at some of the other posts, you will see that more people think Dr. Harriette is abolutely F***ING nuts. Pardon my French. I'm sorry, but having been overweight most of my life and struggling, I only wish I had insurance to get gastric bypass. I don't th ink it's fair (and most people agree) that Dr. Harriette is blaming someone who finally did something about being overweight, had the surgery, and is now healthy and happy. I don't think it's bragging, but you have every right to be proud of what you've accomplished. Losing weight is NOT easy. Believe me, I know! And if you lose people you thought were your friends because they say you were bragging, well, they're not really your friends anyway. If they were your friends, they would be HAPPY for your success, not try to make you feel guilty just because they don't have the courage to do what you did and lose the weight. These people are what I call "bring you downers" because they don't want you to be happy because it makes them feel superior when you have something holding you down. But when you have success, they feel bad about themselves because they don't feel as comfortable because you look better than them and they have to make themselves feel better by bringing you down. It's not bragging, really, and so what if it is a little? you've had a great accomplishment and you DESERVE to be bragging, especially to people you thought were your friends. If they're not happy and supportive for you, then they're not really your friends and you're better off without them. Good riddens. Find some new friends who will support you no matter what!
