i have a question about garlic & dry white wine if anyone can answer it for me. i have some garlic i got at the .99 store and its pink inside, does that mean its no good? also i'm not a drinker and i wanted to make one of rr's recipes and it called for dry white wine. what is that? thanks if anyone can answer that.

It sounds like you may have purchased either elephant garlic or chinese pink garlic which both are ok to use just have a longer period of dormancy. As for wine in cooking always choose a wine that you would drink. Don't buy those cooking wines they sell at the store they are nasty!! Sauvignon Blanc is the one that I use when cooking I buy a bottle for like $10-$15 and it lasts for at least a few more recipes. They also sell nip bottles which are little bottles if you don't want to buy the big ones.
