Snoring

Derren
My husband snores so bad that I have to get up and go into the family room to sleep, (I can still hear him but its not as bad). I tell him all the time about the problem but its like he is scared to go to the doctor and ask for help for his problem. I have also bought those nose strips for him but he will not use them. This is a problem for us because it like we are just room mates now. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Keep smiling because it makes people wonder what your up to.

My husband snores REALLY bad. He was diagnosed with sleep apnea about ten years ago. He has a machine to wear at night but has not worn it in about 4 years. It sounds like you are sleeping with Darth Vader. He would not leave it on all night. As he tossed and turned it would come off or he would take it off during the night without realizing it. He is very nice about it not bothering me so he usually sleeps in the spare bedroom or on the couch. His snoring gets so bad at times I think he is going to choke on his tongue. I try to be sympathetic and not complain.
I hope Colby can find a way to calm his snoring.

There have been many recent advances in CPAP/BIPAP machines and masks. Your husband should request his doc to order him a new mask and a possible home auto-titration to verify his pressure setting. They are much quieter and more comfortable now. He needs to get back on the wagon.

This is a huge problem in my life! My husband's snoring has been compared to a freight train going through our house! I spend the majority of nights sleepless and in another room! Very frustrating to have to leave my comfy bed! I got him to watch this show and hope to see more suggestions for relief! I am trying to talk him into seeing an ENT doctor, but in the meantime I remain "Sleepless in Atlanta".

Colby, My husband used to snore very badly. He now sleeps on a magnetic pillow and from the first night the snoring stopped.

Hey Colby, if you go to the sleep lab and go thru all the tests, nine times out of ten you will be diagnosed with sleep apnea. For YEARS I have listened to exactly what you do and finally after a heart attack and other medical conditions, I convinced my husband to get checked out. Now he uses a bi-pap machine at night and guess what????? NO MORE SNORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's wonderful. I can acutally sleep in OUR bed again. So, don't give up, there is help, you just have to search for it.
Thanks,
Judy
