Reusing egg carton

Today, Rachael suggested reusing your egg carton to transport devilled eggs. Is that really a good idea? It seems a bit dangerous putting cooked eggs back in the carton that just held raw eggs. Hello! Salmonella!! Rachael, what are you thinking?

Well, obviously if your egg breaks in the carton, you'll want to clean it, or if it's the re-used paper type just throw it out, or cut off that part. For the most part, unless after you break your egg you put the shell back into the carton, it should stay pretty safe from salmonella

I let my kids play with the styrofoam cartons after there are empty. I rinse them out. No harm done.
