losing after having a hysterectomy

Arla650
I am 43 and had a hysterectomy at 35. I had in the past been able to lose 40 lbs but have gained much of it back. I eat mainly whole grain carbs, low fat dairy, no red meat, and have been limiting treats to 1 or none a day. I have not been able to lose even following weight watchers and see most people can. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I also wear a pedometer and have done between 10,000 and 20,000 steps daily and lift free weights twice a week. Please help!

It sounds like your eating a healthy diet and exercising enough so I'm not sure how to advise you. You should ask your self the following questions: Are you getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night? Are you eating a wide variety of foods? Are your portion sizes appropriate for your current height and weight? If you feel like you are doing every thing correctly I recommend that you discuss this with your endocrinologist, perhaps he or she and review your hormone levels and detect what is going on?

I wish you well, good luck.
