Limited exercising allowed with diet

TeenMama2
My husband has broken his back 3 seperate times and is now limited on exercises. We have changed our diets and its doing very well but without the exercises my husband sees no change. How can we get him the results he wants with as limited as he is??

I'm not sure if it works for all but I lost thirty pounds by changing a few things with NO excercise.
I drank 8- 8oz of water a day (had to make myself and it was alot of going to the bathroom) but the key to that is to tinkle out the fat.
No soda's and the only sugar I had was splenda. I ate meats and veggies and only used I can't believe its not butter. I cut down and ate on a smaller sized plate. Yes, portion control.
For my "snacks" I drank EAP energy drinks I got at a warehouse. I lost ten pounds a month.
You have to train your body to not crave the junk. It's ok if you want to eat junk but only eat a bite and savor it. No more.
It will work.
I recommend taking a multi-vitamin as well daily. Night is better.
Good luck.

I too am in a possition where I can't exercise and I have been dieting for 1 year and lost just over 200 pounds.
You don't have to exercise to lose weight. It helps and it can especially help in toning your body as you lose but it doesn't make it impossible.
I only use the cooking sprays and not butter or oil. (sorry Rach no EVOO yet) but I take a lot of Rachaels recipes and just change them up for me.
And I add tons of veggies.
And as one poster has said, your palate gets used to the difference in taste after a while and you don't miss the other stuff as much. I still have days where I crave this or that but I give myself one day a month to have what I want, a free day I call it.
That way if I am wanting something I hold off until then.
I eat meat just not like I used to. Maybe now 5 oz a day.
And 1 or 2 fruit and very little fat. But a person gets it in things you don't think about.
and I agree drink lots of fluids.

Try not to get discouraged if you don't see results. If you are taking in less calories than you are burning your body will respond.
sometimes I see more inches go and sometimes it is pounds.
Good luck on your journey.

I too am limited on exercising . I will tell you some tricks that I have learned in order to tone up some. First of all ( and yes I know this sounds odd but believe me it works ! And you can start doing this while sitting ! ) take a deep breath now slowly let it out all the while holding your abs as tight as you can and count as high as you can before having to take another breath . Do this all through out the day and you will be supprised at how you will really feel those abs ! When I do this ( and yes I still do ! ) I try to do this at least 5 times in a row , and then slowly build up until you can do this about 10 times and also keep trying to increase the exhale number going up higher as your abs are tighting . Now this is really a great workout , once you can work you way from sitting to standing up , bend over slightly with your hands on or even just near your knees you will feel this inhale & exhale exercise in your abs , back , and thighs ! If you want some more ideas just let me know ! I truely hope this will help you and at the same time giving your back a light workout ! Please let me know if it helps you too ! Good luck ! Cheryl

Hello.
I have a friend of mine who is good friends with Olympic Gold Medalist/ WWE / TNA Pro Wrestler Kurt Angle. He had suffered many injuries in his career to include breaking his neck several times, he was taking a lot of different medications for pain and other health issues. Until one day he discovered a supplement rich in Fucoidan, he started to take it and within a few weeks he began to feel better, and after a few short months he was totally off all of his pain medication. His cholesterol improved and he lost about 40 pounds. There are over 750 studies on Fucoidan available in the U.S. National Library of Medicine's website at www.pubmed.gov , anyone wanting more information on this amazing supplement can visit www.discoverlimu.com/jsmartinez , this supplement has helped many people around the world including my own family and it can help you too.
I wish you all the best.
