I disagree with sippy cups at this age/help for leah

I wrote to the show, because I couldnt find this page. But basically what I said was to end the sippy cups.

I think the absolute best thing I did for my children was to begin them on regular cups. I put less in them so when they spill it will not be so much to clean up. Milk and juice, and whatever you want in the cups, water only in the bottle. Help her to set a goal of when to throw away the bottles, then help gradually decrease the number of bottles she takes at night, with water only in the bottles though. If she wants milk at night, that is ok but milk has to go in a regular cup. I think that using sippy cups is just like trading one bad habit for another. Also remember it takes 21 days to break a habit.Only one day to make a bad habit. My children are 4, 5, 7 , and 10, all of them drink from cups, and my older two are now old enough for a real glass. Sure we have spills, and we will have broken glasses, but what is the worse that can happen if you try this. you have a few spills, and later a couple broken glasses? If you find yourself using sippy cups, what is the worse that can happen? The child becomes addicted to the sippy cup and you find yourself in the same position twice.

I said more in my email to the show, you will have to ask them for it.

Kids are smart. Give them a cup. My kids were off the bottle by age 1. Why? Because I didn't give them to them. Very simple. We are raising a generation of havers. Give it up people! We didn't have kids to have them rule us. Who are the adults out there?

Leah is doing one thing riht in putting water in the bottle, but this child is either drinking all night for attention or diabetic. At nearly four she should be sleeping all night, in her own bed, and toilet trained (sleeping dry).
As soon as a kid can sit up and hold things, he can drink from a cup. Sippy cups are great if you throw away the lid.
I think kids walking around with "sippy cups" and bottles is so babyish. If they can walk they can eat at the table at mealtime. I do credit Leah with putting water in the bottle. Tea, Kool aid and soda do not belong in a kids bottle or mouth.
Adults carrying bottles constantly is a little unnecessary also. When did people get so "dehydrated"? I can remember when people got a glass or water when "thirsty" and left the dishes in the kitchen or dining room.
