To me, that defeats the purpose of even having the vegetable. I think broccoli is delicious. I have thought so since my parents gave it to me plain as a side dish. No hiding vegetables in foods to get us to eat them. They were served on the side and we knew we were expected to eat them. To this day, just a couple of weeks shy of 31, the only common vegetable I don't like are lima beans. I used to loathe spinach, but I started to choke down when I realized the nutritional benefits for my baby when I was pregnant. I started to put spices on it when I steamed it, eventually, I thought it was edible with other vegetables, and now I like it plain. Go figure.

I'm a big believer in trying something once. I don't expect my children to eat everything if I don't even like it. But I also don't tell them I don't like it in front of them. The only way I will eat spinach is in stuffed shells from restaurants. Children go in stages with food. One day they will eat broccoli, then the next day, it's almost taboo for them to have broccoli. I go with the flow. Part of this nation's obesity problem is expecting children to clean their plates without a complaint. They have to learn to listen to their stomachs on when they are full so they can stop from overeating.

I totally agree with you. What I do is I tell my son that he has to at least try a bite of it. Usually, he will try the first bite and love it. The only food he had issues with was brussel sprouts and sour kraut (not in the same meal lol ) it seems to work for me
