These are probably our most experienced drivers; there is a lot that can be done to improve our intersections and roads so that we don't have to take away their independence. Or, create alternative modes for independence for EVERYBODY. There are many people that shouldn't be driving. On the roads at any given time you have your cell phone users or otherwise distracted (kids in cars, cigarettes, eating, snakes in the transmission), your lost, ill, foreigners, in a hurry, your aggressive drivers, cars in poor mechanical condition, new drivers, etc etc. To say that the elderly are all in one group that causes or are more harmed in accidents is playing with stats.
