Hi, I would love to have my husband wear an actual suit! I have bought him several suit jackets, that he refuses to wear. It seems I have no idea how to select the right size suit for him. He thinks there is no way a suit will ever be comfortable...........please help the jeans man make a comfortable fashion statement! Shyida
Hey Shyida - The proper fit is paramount when it comes to a suit or sport coat. If it is ill-fitted, he's not going to be comfortable in it - and it's not going to look sharp ... But don't try guessing at his size. Take him to a Men's Wearhouse or any reputable men's suit store and have him properly measured. Remember that just because he may be a 44 Regular doesn't mean that the suit will fit perfectly off the rack. Expect to have some minor alterations done. The majority of the stores offer this service at no charge when you purchase the suit. Because of my body type, I not only have to have all of my suits altered, but even my dress shirts. I'm telling you, once your man pulls on a suit that has been tailor made for him, he's not only going to be comfortable, but he might actually begin to prefer it! How about this: Meet him in the middle. Instead of overwhelming him with the idea of a full "suit," talk him into rocking a sport coat with his jeans. It is one of my favorite style choices. It's dressy enough to pull off in most situations, and the jeans allow him to stay in his comfort zone... Good luck!
