I think the mother of the woman who lost the weight was a disgrace! I don't care if the daughter was bragging or not, how can a mother be jealous? She should have sucked it in and been thrilled that her daughter finally lost all of that weight. Moms are supposed to be supportive not jealous!!!!

I agree. no wonder Hallie had turned to food for comfort in the past. She had a cold and selfish mother. it makes me extra appreciative of the wonderful person my mother was. Hallie needs to go to therapy so that she can go on with her life, appreciating the person she is. I would have a cordial, occasional relationship with her mother. what kind of a mother stops speaking with such a nice daughter?

I AGREE THE MOTHER WAS EXTREMELY JEALOUS BECAUSE HER DAUGHTER LOST WEIGHT AND SHE WAS NOT LOSING. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ANY MOTHER WOULD STOP TALKING TO THEIR CHILD OVER THIS. ALL SHE HAD TO SAY WAS IT HURTS MY FEELING WHEN YOU SAY I CAN NOT WEAR THE CLOTHES. IF HER FRIENDS WERE OVERWEIGHT THAT WAS PROBABLY PART OF THE PROBLEM. IF THEY WERE MARRIED AND SINCE SHE IS NOT THEY COULD HAVE BEEN AFRAID THEIR HUSBAND MIGHT TAKE A SECOND LOOK. I AM OVERWEIGHT TOO AND I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO BE IN OUR SOCIETY BUT MORE POWER TO ANYONE THAT CAN GET IT OFF.
