I was really disappointed in the food and beverage options that Rachael had for Hallie. We all know that we aren't supposed to cook with or eat real sugar after having gastric bypass. She made sloppy joes with brown sugar. She also gave her a portion size that could feed me for a week (I had surgery 7 months ago).
My doctor also tells us to stay away from things like white bread that have a lot of sugar and can ball up in our stomachs, causing blockages.
The Champaign was a shocker too. I know it was a very special occasion, but all the sugar and carbonation?!?!?!
I know that Hallie ate some of the food, and drank some of the Champaign, but I don't think they were good representations of what we can eat and drink after gastric bypass surgery.
I don't mean to complain, but I was really hoping to get some yummy recipes and drink options from Rachael that would be appropriate for me and my lifestyle now.
What do you guys think?
