Seeing the story about the lady and her bff's wedding made me think of a friend that I was bff's with for 13yrs. Her and I went through so much together, moving, boyfriends all of it. We met when I was in the 2nd grade and she was in the 1st. We were friends till I was about 19 or 20. She is a yr younger than me. Anyways, her dad passed away and she wanted me to be there for the funeral. I of course was going to. But at the time I was going through alot of stuff with my parents and my son. They had my son and I was getting visitation whenever they would let me. It just so happened when the funeral was, which was a Sat my mom decided that was the wknd I was going to get my son. I had to have him. I didn't want to mess things up with my visits since I didn't get them very often. I called her and told her I was very sorry that I couldn't make it. I would come but my son would have to come with me. She didn't want him there. Which to me was understanding. It is confusing to a small child why everyone is crying and such. I kept calling her all day making sure she was doing okay. The next day, she called me, yelling at me and telling me what a horible friend I was that I wouldn't come to be with her. I tried to explain but she wouldn't have any of it. I felt heart broken that I couldn't be there for her. It was very hard. I would give anything to see her again and see how she is doing. This happened 15yrs ago. So if Paula Copley is out there....please contact me. I would love to talk to you again. She lived in Lincoln NE. My name when we were friends was Carrie Cunningham. Friends are to precious to not fight to have in your life!
