I absolutely love your segments on the show. I watched todays where you let us tour your house. It is beautiful!
I recently moved to Virginia about a month ago and my boyfriend and I can't afford to buy nice furniture for each room in the house. We have a three bedroom house that is too big for us. There is a particular room right next to the kitchen that only has a mini fridge and a lamp in it (very "bachelor" if I must say). I don't know what to do with it! We already have an office upstairs. It drives me crazy that every time I'm cooking in the kitchen I see that ugly room. Do you have any suggestions of what to make of it or where to shop (at a reasonable price)?

First, I have to tell you that it's an enormous luxury to have so much space that there are rooms you don't know what to do with! Sounds to me like the room is already suggesting what it would like to be...mini fridge says bar to me, which can evolve into a library, loungey, den. Paint the walls dark, use lamps instead of overheads to create a subtle vibe and go with heavy wood and leather pieces. I know this sounds expensive, but I've put together spaces exactly like this sourcing only from thrift stores and hotel liquidators. (the good news is, this slightly masculine, pure classic look is best achieved using pieces with character- i.e. slightly scratched, worn...affordable!) I can already picture you in there- glass of wine, a good book...
