In 1983 my husband had a wonderful idea for a family vacation. For 39 days we camped in a tent and made our way from New Mexico up to Yellowstone and back. No electicity, no showers and one very unhappy teen age daughter. We did finally cave in and paid for showers at Yellowstone. The end result? After complaining the whole trip, our daughter is now grown with three boys. She loves the outdoors, camping, gardening and everything except mosquitos. Our son who was younger and loved the experience and spend hours chasing lizards and caught his first fish on thst trip, can't stand to camp. His idea of roughing it is the Holiday Inn and a hot tub. He has every electric gadget made. Our daughter is like Mother Earth. It's hard to tell how things will influence kids in the long run. Me? I found out things about my family I never wanted to know (lol)...
