Lunchbox Wraps

My 6yo daughter is not a typical sandwich eater... but I have found that everything is better in a wrap. Any other suggestions are welcome. I can use all the help that I can get.

Basic stuff. Roast beef, white American, lettuce & tomato. Honey roasted turkey, Swiss, mustard. Just don't put any EVOO in them.

My son is the same way. I often skip the sandwich and just give him things from the same food groups. For example, I'll pack turkey pepperoni slices, WheatThins, Triscuits, or some other cracker, baby carrots and a fruit.

My kids are the same, sandwiches just do not appeal to them. So I have invented a couple different wraps that can be eaten at room temp or warmed in the microwave.

The most famous one, Pizza Wraps. I use canned pizza sauce spread on a whole wheat wrap. Top it with pepperoni slices, green peppers, low fat mozza cheese and anything else your kids like on their pizza. My kids eat these at room temp but they can be popped in a microwave for a few seconds too.

I also do the cream cheese, ham, veggies......the kids love these too. Plain old chicken salad wraps are a hit too.

for kids who will not eat a sandwich or in my kids case eat it but take it apart first, Quesadillas work really well

my daughter won't eat regular bread so everything goes on a wrap. Her favoite is cream cheese spread on wrap then put on either salmi or peperoni. After you roll it up cut it into 1 inch slices. She rarely gets to eat all of her "pinwheel" by herself as her classmates all want a taste.

Sounds like a lot of future Wrap Stars here.

The head poundings on the wall help.

OK.You may think this sounds gross, but my kids love it! I take whole wheat flour tortillas, and spread peanut butter and jelly on them, then I take a half of a banana and lay it on top, sprinkle a couple of raisins, and wrap! I wrap in wax paper, and put a little sticker on the outside. All the kids rave about the cool lunches my kids get!

a friend of mine's kids love toritllas with butter spread on them then cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on it. Not the healthiest snack in the world, but definately something different.

Have you tried pita bread. Alot of kids find it fun to make there own pita pockets.

Whatever you do, don't feed them Banquet frozen turkey or chicken pot pies for a while. There is a recall in effect due to salmonella. We love pot pies, so this is really messing up my meal planning. I'm afraid to use any brand. We prefer Banquet because they are real cheap. Maybe it's time to learn how to make them.

Peace

My kids would love this, but with the peanut products restrictions in our school, they couldn't have this. I sometimes will do much the same thing with a banana in a hot dog bun with the peanut butter as well.

my kids and alot others also like ham and cheese or turkey and cheese roll-ups, Works really good for those no-bread eaters. Even the young ones can help with these, they just put together whatever meat and cheese they like and maybe even a leaf of lettuce and roll.

My children love wraps so if we have chicken or steak for dinner
the next day they take the steak or chicken cut up and cheese
and some lettuce and a whole wheat tortilla and they make their
wrap at school. They love doing this.

My daughter is not big on school lunches and gets tired of the "bread" sandwich rather quickly. I buy flavored cream cheese, either garlic and herb or vegetable. Take some ham, turkey breast, chicken breast or roast beef and spread on some cream cheese. Roll up and slice in half. Add some fruit cups or carrots and you're out the door.
