I am a 26 year old mother of a 16 month old daughter. I have heard about the binky fairy and I am sure that it will work with bottles as well. What you need to do is explain to Sophia that there are other babies that need bottles all over the world and that since she is a big girl now she can donate her bottles to help the babies. Tell her that there is a bottle fairy that comes around to everyone's house at night looking for empty bottles and if the fairy gets bottles from you, she will leave you a surprise for when you get up in the morning. Before she goes to bed gather up all of her bottles and put them in a bag then place the bag outside before bed. After Sophia goes to bed you can go and get the bottles and dispose of them however you would like, leaving a present for Sophia in the same place where she left the bottles for the fairy. When she gets up in the morning she will hopefully be excited to go and find out what the "bottle fairy" left for her! A trick that I learned with my daughter is that she really wanted to use a sippy cup because she saw all of her friends drinking out of it at nursery, so maybe you could buy her a fancy sippy cup, I perfer Dr. Brown's and possibly she would like that to keep with her at nighttime. Good Luck, I know what you are going through, I wish I could take my own advice and get rid of my daughters binky, but the excuse that I use is that she is too young to understand the "binky fairy" story! I know that it is super hard because you want to give them everything that they want, but I want lots of things that I don't get and that is just life unfortunately. She will be upset and cry but soon, she will move onto something else. Good luck with everything, don't ever think that you are a bad parent because she still drinks from the bottle. She is getting unconditional love and that is what makes you the best parent!
