Rach's challenge.

Rach please don't take her up on her challenge! That's the same as I having a public prostate probe. It's simply not done in high society. These are private matters done with our doctors. Just say no!

Rach you should do this because you are showing young women if you can doit they can do it to.Don't mind what other people are saying!!

I absolutely applaud you for showing women that a mammogram doesn't hurt if done properly and is, obviously, one of the best diagnostic tools to detect breast cancer. If the actual mammogram was performed on your show, however, I'm concerned that you were needlessly exposed to more radiation.
In the segment of you show, it stated you had already undergone a mammogram prior to this show. Radiation exposure is very high compared to other diagnostic imaging modalities and should not be used unneccessarily. Unless different angles were needed to give additional information on the mammogram on your show, the technologist should have been made aware you had already had a mammogram perfomed. If a radiologist was in the van, they might have recommended an ultrasound or MRI instead, if there were any potential problems.

YOU GO GIRL !!!! We are proud of you Rach !!!

If you watch the video - they say that it was all for "show" - she was never exposed to radiation this go round. I think its great that she did it - lots of gals are really nervous about having one. Its not the most comfortable thing in the world - but hey, if I can survive giving birth - this was a breeze!

Rachael, I just want to say thank you for showing the mammogram procedure on your show, even though you must have been a little uncomfortable doing it televised, and who wouldn't be. I'm still about 10 years from needing my first one but when I hear people talk about how much it hurts, even though I know sometimes they're joking, it has made me apprehensive about the whole thing. But seeing you go through it and not even cringe, as well as seeing the whole process for myself, has made me lose the anxiety I had about it. So thank you again.

I think that bringing this very important issue out to the public is only more encouragement for those who haven't had a mammogram. I have a screening mammogram faithfully every year and last year it detected a lump in my left breast that I was unable to feel myself. I have recently completed chemotherapy and radiation treatments and my hair is finally growing back. It was something that I never really thought I would have but it CAN happen to anyone. I love the show, usually as this one was, I have to DVR it and watch later because I work Night and sleep days. Thanks Rachael, sincerly Julia Roden, Burleson, TX
