Rach to the Rescue

Hello all -- I have never posted before and enjoy the Rachel Ray show. Today, however, I was a little discouraged to see a young and obviously well-to-do woman receive at home assistance with baking a cake and then even was awarded a new Kenmore range. I think the problem I have is the individual's residence made it appear that she probably would have no problem to pay for a cooking class and she also had the kitchen most of us would dream to have, yet she a new range. Maybe a segment should be done at a local Domestic Violence shelter and YWCA showing impoverished and women in difficult situations how to cook healthy and for low-cost. Maybe a new range should be given to such an organization as well. I completely understand the value of good, lighthearted daytime TV, but maybe a person of need should be picked for these "Rescue" segments. Thank you

It was nice to see I wasn't the only one that felt that way. There are so many many women out there that need help and encouragement. The woman in the segment seems very nice but honestly...did she really need that range? Donating it would have made the segment a little easier to swallow.

I totally agree with you guys. This woman had a VERY nice home and it appeared the range she had in her home was better than the one they gave her. The reaction she had was so over the top fake when presented the range. I would have felt better if she said "no please keep the range and donate it to a local shelter, or etc" so I wonder just what happened to it?? I too am glad that I wasn't the only one thinking that!! Kuddos!!

OMG! I felt the exact same way! I live w/ my aunt who has terminal cancer. We watch RR everyday...when we saw that we both said, "Yeah, right...like she needs that!" Idk...maybe we just took it extra hard because our oven is old and doesn't work right. My aunt is planning on buying a new one when she gets her life insurance check...which of course they are dragging their feet on; but that is a whole other story. P.S. I thought that during that segment they popped up a thing that said "enter to win on RR website". I can't find it...Is it just me? Nevermind...I just figured it out. You have to click on Rach to the Rescue...I hope I win it for my aunt!!!
