A website solicits donations on behalf of a homeless man in Houston, Texas. People can log on, watch streaming video of the man, and donate anything from a cheeseburger to a college education to him. The site is called "PimpThisBum.com" - is this going too far?

The website tells about hope, compassion and people coming together to saves someones life. We might not save everyone, but we can save one. Dare to reach one hand into the darkness to bring another into the light. The Christian family "The Dolans" are loved by all and have been a great inspiration to everyone that has come into contact with them.

This idea to help one person at a time is working. I have been following this story, and it has captivated my heart from the beginning. I have never seen anything so worthwhile to help the homeless as this effort. The Dolan's just started this idea on Feb.17th and it has really taken off with the help of many caring individuals around the globe. Please check it out, watch the videos and Join the Chat group on the site and talk with others that are also finding this to be such a rewarding way to help others not as fortunate. The homeless men you will meet, will amaze you with their insights, intelligence and their stories from the streets! I love it and I hope you will too!!!

I have been following this story from day one and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. The Dolan's are wonderful people and I can only hope that this will eventually expand countrywide to give a hand up to those who want to reach out and better their lives.

The website is making an incredible effort to get people off the street and rebuild their lives. I commend the Dolan's for their generosity. These are living, breathing, human beings that could really use your help and support!

I started watching Tim the night he shaved his head. He has changed my heart about some things and kinda woke me up inside..One look into those eyes and the comfort of his voice..Stirred up my compassion (again). Alot of people are offered help and don't even take it. Some think its easier to stay sick than to get well..Just Hopelessness.Its so rampant, Tim's, Desire is a God send..He is a humble man, an obidient man, honest, and willing to follow directions. The whole package for this mission.. The way the Dolans found him and everything about this story is not a coincidense..Its is God working thru 1 person at a time 1 day. God bless my friend Tim, Deb

Ok so the name of the site is a bit degrading. But I bet it is better then what people say to the homeless on a daily basis. I have not been to the site but hey the name of the site has definately gotten them alot of extra TV time and has really gotten the word out. And they are getting willing voluteers so the bums must not find it so bad.

Anyone who says that this is going too far is b/c they have not signed into the website. I initially felt similar, that the wording was not "very nice" but before judging, I signed in and have TOTALLY changed my mind about that. I like so many of the others who have replyed (Monalisa, ITW, Andrea) have been following this story since day one. The whole reason for the Dolan's naming it Pimpthisbum is to capture attention (whether negative or positive) initially, then to explain their motive and plan.
I urge anyone voting "no" or "yes" to sign in and find out what this is about before making a decision if it is "going to far." Trust me, it needs to go further.
These people are literally the reason that this man is in rehabilitation in Seattle Washington at Sun Ray Treatment and Recovery Center getting help, for finding his long lost family he never knew he had, for making all of us love these PEOPLE (Tim, JOHN, and Bobby) when they thought they could never be loved by anyone, and the list goes on and on.
Please, again, I urge you to sign on, meet us in the live chat groups, see Tim & John and what they have been through. PLEASE! You will be addicted to this website! These people are remarkable, SMART, loving, genuine, and HUMAN BEINGS and should be treated as such- which is EXACTLY what the Dolan's have done, unlike so many so called "shelters" in the Houston locations.

P.S. if there is ANY ?s about the ligitimacy of this project, why don't you go to the ones being affected: Tim (who is in rehab), John (who is heading to rehab) and Bobby (who will potentially be helped after John)and see what they have to say. Oh, and watch the video about the "helicopter" and Tim's friends/buddies at the camp. Trust me, you will NOT regret it!!!

I have supported this website and project since I first heard of it. Not only are "bums" being helped one at a time, their stories are already inspiring other people to make their own personal changes for the better.

I do not think this is "going to far", in fact, I think they are really and truly helping this man. However, I think they could have come up with a better, more appropriate name for the website.

Do not judge to you have all the facts !!! Once you visit the web site and see all that is happening..YOU WILL BE A BELIVER!!!! The Dolans are wonderful!!!
Your loss if you do not take the time to check it out...Tim, Bobby and John are just like us but they are down... Who is to say it could not be us one day in their shoes...
