Wedding Sex Claim Lawsuit

A New York woman has filed a lawsuit against a guest at her wedding who allegedly announced at the reception that she’d had an affair with the groom. The suit accuses the guest of slander, inflicting emotional distress and battery. Is the law suit going too far?

This is a stupid lawsuit. Things like this just clog up the justice system and cause real cases to linger for extended periods of time. Personally, I think if a lawyer is willing to take on one of these frivolous claims, he/she should be fined.

I agree this is a stupid lawsuit, just another excuse to bleed someone dry and tie up the justice system for someone's indiscretions. Guess they should have thought twice about who they were inviting!

To go through the Embarrassment of being at YOUR wedding, to have some ex-BIMBO make the announcement,that she slept w/ your Husband. The Bimbo planned it. She probably/ maybe got really toasted, and wondered ..oh BOO-HOO. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN.."MY WEDDING". Her revenge was MEAN. and probably MEANT to destroy something that she,COULDN'T HAVE. SHE is NO LONGER, the woman in the GROOMS life,AS HE MARRIED ANOTHER? She should pay for whatever Doctor? psysh.? bills and make a APOLOGY to the new COUPLE,and the GUEST LIST..for causing such a horrific and truly out of place remark. BIMBO EX is NOT MARRIAGE MATERIAL,FOR ANYONE. EEEK. RUN LIKE HELL BOYS..

Yes, this could certainly be seen as a frivolous lawsuit. But, many women, many couples, put a lot of time and effort into their weddings. They have a view of what it should be and are already stressed with having to deal with a million and one related things going on behind the scenes. Why shouldn't the bride ensure that guests are aware that such incredibly hurtful behaviour has consequences beyond getting their butts tossed. What that guest did has far-reaching and long lasting consequences to both the bride and groom. But we're now upset that this guest is being forced to face consequences for her choices? This isn't even about clogging up the system, this is about the fact that many people in our society today have no concept of consequences for their actions. Maybe this will prompt people to think about it.

The right thing to do was to pull her right arm just as far back as it would go and then slam her fist into that loud, crass woman's mouth just as hard as she could...but that probably would've landed her in jail and/or court, being sued for something she had every right to do. People need to wake up and stop the insanity of lawsuits..they also need to stop being the kind of jackasses that leave people no other alternative but to sue!

That person waited to the wedding day to enjoy her revenge. That is a deliberately act that reflects premeditation. I agree with the lawsuit. They are a lot of different ways to handle the situation and if she was women enough to ruin that person special day she needs to be women enough to handle the consequences.
