clothes to fit curvy gals

Hi Gretta,

I love watching the make overs that you do. I recently have gained weight due to a thyroid issue I had. I had my thyroid and a tumor removed in June 09. Over the last year my weight has ballooned fifty pounds. Each and every pound is on my hips and thighs. I am small in my shoulders so its hard to find clothing to fit me.

Do you have any suggestions on finding jeans, dress pants to fit someone small in the waist but has a big ole buttocks, hips and thighs? lol

I look forward to your answer!

Thanks,

Rebecca

Hi! SO many women have this problem and FINALLY designers and specialty retailers are catching on and capitalizing on exactly the same needs you have. Gap and Express are both making curvy fits in jeans and pants now, meaning they are designed to give more room through the hips and thighs, but still contour to a proportionally smaller waist. Designer denim company J Brand was the first to do this and their Scarlett "Blue Label" was so successful that other retailers knew they needed to follow suit. If you can't find one of these options to work for you, buy for your hips and thighs and have a tailor take the waist in. You'll never have to have an annoying tug at your waistband again! XO-GRETTA
