Rachael and Martha

I think that having both women on the same stage will be a hit. They are both great, I've learned so much from both women. My hats off to them both

I agree with the previous writer. Having both women on the same stage will be awesome. Martha has taught me so much about not just cooking, but style and calm under fire. Rachael is a delight every day, and sets good examples. She doesn't just "strive to be happy", she is...

I missed it. How was it?

Also, Martha is having Rachael on her show this week also.

I think this is great having Matha on her show. This is history right here. One thing about Martha she can bake and do crafts so she has one up on Rach. But Rach can learn something from Martha and Martha can learn something from Rach. How ever Rach might have more up to date methods be cause people her age are looking for different ideas in a fast pase life syle and Rach can provide that.

Make no mistake Rach has it all over Martha, Martha can learn from Rach on how to treat people that is something not just for young people too, it's for everyone, Rachael will treat Martha like a queen, and be her gracious generous charming self, we will see that tomorrow. Martha will be humbled by this I hope. She could certainly learn alot from Rach. Many people can do what Martha does but it's what comes from the heart that counts and Rachael has it!!!!

Exactly several former staff members of Marthas have said they have quite because of how she treats them. Plus Martha's own daughter Alexis even has said she is very mean to her crew! Martha imo has a ton to learn!! But this should be good. If you catch what I mean?

I think it's going to be a great show. Both of them has a huge following, and the thing I like best will be the fact that Rach's personality will bring out the best of Martha's relaxed side. It should be really great. I will not miss it.

I heard that Martha crew quit also. Yes maybe Rachael can teach and old dog some new tricks. Because Rachael is a smart heart warming person. She doesn't hesitate to give and make people at home. I wish some day I could be in her audience. I think it would be great. She just makes you feel like your right there in her kitchen with her. When I use to watch Martha she wasn't like that. But Martha has made it big.

When they were getting out of the elevator, it appeared that Rachael extended her hand to Martha, who quickly jerked it away as if to say, "don't touch me", or "I can do it myself". I thought the whole segment just proved what I already knew. It was very unpleasant to watch, and I can only surmise that Rachael was as uncomfortable doing it as I was watching it.

I just saw Martha on Rachael's show and both of them were great! Rachael also will be on Martha's show later on. Martha loved to talk about herself and has a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all I loved the craft segment. My daughter loves to spray paint and the gourd centerpiece is terrific. Martha and her staff have marvelous new ideas for the holidays!

I was happy to see Martha on Rachel,I think Rach is great, but unless you try Martha's way of making turkey(wine, butter, soaked in cheese cloth, and wrapped on top of turkey. You have definately missed out. Also try her no knead italian bread. You will not be sorry.

I noticed the same thing. I think most of it is just that Rachael is an extremely warm and open person, very "touchy-feely"....I love both Rachael and Martha and thoroughly enjoyed the show but I completely prefer how open and accessible Rachael is. It is just personality differences.......some people are just more "closed" and that has always bothered me about Martha. Even when Martha tries to act more open it just seems forced and doesn't work. Don't get me wrong I completely respect her and think she is beyond talented and fabulous at what she does. I just think that I relate better to Rachael because she is more down to earth and seems so much more approachable and open and that is how my personality is as well. Rachael doesn't put on airs, she is what she is, love her or hate her you always feel as if you are seeing the REAL Rach and I love her for that.
Once again though I thoroughly enjoyed the show, I am not bashing Martha they just have two totally different styles! That's why there is chocolate and vanilla!! :)

Closed is a good way to describe Martha, but if Rachael couldn't put her at ease today no one could. In true Rachael style she was wonderful treated Martha like a queen and hopefully the same will happen when Rach is on Martha's show tomorrow. Cudos to Rach as usual she did a fabulous job today as I knew she would. Rachael is the best!!!

I so noticed that too!! She down right Jerked her hand away from Rachael. Poor Rachael is such a touchy feely person and I saw her forget and try to extend her hand to Martha a few times especially on the lazy susan. Rach always holds on to her guests to keep them from losing their balance. That part seemed so awkward for Rachael.

I just love Rachael and she is such a gracious, warm and humorous host. However, even though I do like Martha's cooking and decorating techniques, her etiquette was horrible on RR's show! She was very rude to Rachael and acted like she was too good to be on the show. THEN Rachael appeared on Martha's show and the only thing that changed was that Rachael was her normal perky, friendly, loving self but Martha was very condescending ("have you ever worked with flour?") DUH! Rachael should do herself a favor and stay away from the likes of Martha. Rachael, we love you!!! Keep up the awesome teaching, sharing and entertaining! Now you and Paula, that's a totally different story. :-)

tap
Yes I noticed too that Martha was a bit condescending especially with the comment about the flour obviously she's never watched Rach make a recipe with one of her many yummy gravies if she did she would know that Rach uses flour all the time. I am sure however it never occurs to Martha that Rachael does know her way around a kitchen or how full of flavor Rach's recipes really are. I just don't think Martha gets it and I don't think she understands Rach's happy personality or her cooking while Martha is talented Rachael is way above her baking or not!!!! You are right Rachael and Paula are great together but have to hand it to Rach she handled it all beautifully!!!!

sandra59
When I watched the show I thought Martha was being a bit rude to rachael because everytime rachael went to talk Martha interrupted her. Martha act as if she was the only on the stage. I don't think either on of them looked each other in the face when they were talking. But all I can say is move over Martha there is a new kid in town. And she is about to make it big.

triplehpns
And I loved the way Rachael referred to the leaves as "dudes". Did Martha really have to say that if she ever refers to her pie crust things as 'dudes' then to "stitch my mouth shut"? Ack! Remember Rachael said she doesn't want to go back on Iron Chef if she has to make curd? Well, pit her against Martha on a cook off! lol Rachael would finish early and generously offer her assistance to Martha.

sandra59
I'm sorry but rachael is a better person then Martha. Rachael isn't stuck on her self. I haven't watch Martha's show since she got into trouble. I watch Rachaels show everytime I get a chance.
And I really love it when Paula Dean comes on her show. She is another that has made it big. Rachael and Paula are my favorite.
