Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup any cereal of your choice, grape nuts, corn flakes, etc.
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 slices bread

Yields: 1 serving

Preparation

Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt in 2 tablespoons butter.

In a small pot, heat the syrup just until it begins to bubble. Reserve.

In the bottom of a shallow dish, crunch up the cereal. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs with the milk. Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture to coat and place them in the cereal dish. Coat both sides with the cereal, pressing down if necessary.

Step

Add the cereal-coated bread to the skillet and cook on either side for 2-3 minutes. Slice into wedges and serve with the warm maple syrup.
