Captain Sig Hansen's Fish Balls
This recipe was featured in the Deadliest Catch "Rival Ray."
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound cod or Ling Cod or Red Snapper
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- Half an onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- 3 to 4 tablespoons potato starch
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
- Vegetable oil or Crisco, for frying

Preparation
Heat oil in a deep pot over medium-high heat.
Place fish in a food processor and pulse until slightly ground. Slowly add half-and-half and process to combine. Add in onion and the rest of ingredients, and process until mixture is a creamy texture.
Carefully drop spoonfuls of the mixture and fry in hot oil. Turn over the “fish ball’ when it starts to float and take them out when they are a golden brown (about 2 minutes a side…damn good!)
