Cider Know-How: Apple Cider Cake with Cinnamon-Cream Cheese Frosting
Swap cider for the liquid (water or milk) in your favorite golden cake mix and make a cake or cupcakes. Top with the cinnamon-cream cheese frosting below.
Ingredients
- 1 8-ounce block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Yields: Serves 6-8
Preparation
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment or large mixing bowl with a handheld mixer, beat together the cream cheese, butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon until smooth and creamy, 4-5 minutes.
