Forget the jarred stuff, make your own salsa!

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 plum or vine-ripened tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cilantro, roughly chopped
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Yields: 4 servings


Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, season with salt and pepper and let sit for 15-20 minutes to let the flavors combine.

Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
