Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Sauza Tres Generaciones tequila (100% agave resposado or Sauza Commemorative - a lighter-style Anejo)
  • 2 1/2 cups limonada (1 cup fresh lime juice mixed with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 1/2 cups water will yield 2 3/4 cups, a little more than you need)
  • 1/2 cup Torres orange liqueur
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Coarse (Kosher) salt
  • 6 cups ice cubes

Yield

Serves: 8 cocktails

Preparation

In a pitcher, combine the tequila, limonada and orange liqueur. (Or, stir together the lime juice, sugar and water until dissolved before adding the remaining ingredients). Cover and refrigerate until chilled about 2 hours.

Use the lime and salt to crust the rims of eight 6-ounce martini glasses as described in the Bartenders recipe. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice and pour in a generous 1 cup of margarita mixture. Shake and strain into two of the prepared glasses. Repeat for the remaining margaritas.
