Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted slivered or sliced almonds

Yield

Serves: 6 servings

Preparation

Cook green beans for 5 minutes in 1 inch of boiling water, covered. Drain and return pan to heat.

Add EVOO, butter and to the pan. Toss drained beans in the oil and melted butter, and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with toasted slivered or sliced almonds.
