It was all about comfort food for our readers in March, with fried chicken, chocolate cake and homemade takeout all making the list!

No. 10: Fried Chicken Thighs and Cheesy Grits with Green Onions

This homestyle meal features tender fried breaded chicken thighs served with rich and delicious grits flavored with green onions and lots and lots of cheese.

Tip: Don’t crowd the pan, or frying basket, if you want your fried chicken to be crisp.

No. 6: Bob Harper’s Meatloaf Meatballs with Balsamic 'Ketchup' and Roasted Squash

Fitness expert Bob starts by blending ground grass fed beef, pork and turkey. He then adds chopped hazelnuts, cauliflower rice, parsley, egg, grated garlic and pre-sauteed carrots, celery and onion. He then rolls the mixture into meatballs and bakes. So easy, healthy and delish.

No. 5: Three-Cheese Pasta with Brussels Sprouts

This is basically a mac and cheese with lots of brussels sprouts leaves, so there is less reason to feel guilty about the carbs! Rach kicks it up a notch in the cheese department, however, using mouthwatering Fontina Val’dosta, Parmigiano Reggiano and Gorgonzola Dolce. She tops with brown butter sage breadcrumbs and crispy sage leaves for the grand finale.

No. 4: 5-Spice Pork Stir-Fry

This make your own takeout recipe can be healthier for you, because, as Rachael says, you control the salt, fat and quality of ingredients. Rach stir fries lean pork with green beans, cabbage, onions and garlic, and tosses it with a 5 spice soy chutney sauce.

Tip: Rach serves the rice with an ice cream scoop, and puts it on top of the stir fry, so that it won’t get soggy and mushy.
