"I'm making a tequila-based drink that I call apples to oranges," explains John. "And the reason for that name is because it's got blood orange juice and Cointreau in it, and Calvados, an apple brandy." He created the cocktail to go with Rach's Chicken and Chorizo, and it tastes as good as it sounds. Just ask Rach. "Oh, that's a special one!" she exclaims after one sip. "That tastes like fruit punch. It's amazing!"

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces tequila blanco
  • ¾ ounce Calvados
  • ¾ ounce Cointreau
  • 1 ½ ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice
  • Blood orange wheel, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Combine the tequila, Calvados, Cointreau and orange juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake to chill and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass or copper mug. Garnish with blood orange wheel.

Always drink responsibly.
