The five finalists spend their first night in New York toasting each other and congratulating themselves, but when Colby meets them in Times Square the next morning, the "oven mitts" are off -- it's time to rumble!

Colby outlines their first challenge called "The Amazing Taste." The contestants will receive a series of messages from Rachael that will guide them to three different restaurants representing a part of the city's culinary culture. Once they complete a task to prove their skill and knowledge, they receive the location of the next restaurant. The first contestant to complete all three tasks and cross the finish line receives an advantage in the elimination challenge.

The legendary Tavern on the Green restaurant is the first stop on the race, where executive chef Brian Young tests their oyster-shucking skills. Once they get his approval, it's off to Dean's Pizzeria to make the perfect pie crust under the careful scrutiny of co-owner Nick Angelis. The race continues on to Chinatown in Part Two of the Amazing Taste!
