Week 3 of the "Hey, Can You Cook?! 3" competition begins with another early wake up call from Colby. This time, the finalists -- Donna, Lindsey and Madison -- are hopping a ferry to New York's historic Ellis Island, which for six decades served as the entry way to America for 12 million immigrants. In keeping with the history of the site, Colby explains that today's challenge has an international flavor. The contestants will have 25 minutes to create a balanced meal that focuses on a trio of ingredients inspired by three of the cultures that came through Ellis Island:
Italy -- spiced sausage, jarred tomatoes and cornmeal
Ireland -- thick-cut bacon, potatoes and cabbage
Greece -- ground lamb, artichoke hearts and rice
As the winner in last week's elimination challenge, Lindsey chooses the foods from Italy, and assigns the Irish ingredients to Madison and the Greek menu to Donna. Before they get cooking, Colby informs them that their meals will be critiqued by some very special surprise judges -- and the loser will be going home.
