"It's so exciting to have you here!" Rachael says, as legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin takes a seat at the kitchen table. She has racked up top 10 hits and Grammys since the 1960s, so Rachael is surprised when her audience's standing ovation makes this singer a little jittery. "I still get nervous," Aretha admits. "Every once in a while."

After decades of awards, performances and huge audiences, Rachael asks Aretha if any one moment stands out as the greatest of her career. "That moment was the inaugural!" Aretha says, recalling her show-stopping performance last January when Barack Obama was sworn in to the presidency. "I only had three hours of sleep that night, I was like a kid waiting for Christmas - you know I just could not sleep!"

She is now teaching her granddaughter to sing, although the young student gave her famous grandmother a shock when she started choosing songs. "I said, 'Well Victory, what do you want to sing? And she said, 'Grandma, I want to sing Alicia Keys,' and I said, 'Did you say Aretha, please?'"

Aretha is set to release some new songs of her own this January, in addition to her new Christmas album!
