Talk about the show

Did your family ever take a portrait with everyone from the grandparents to the newborns wearing the same plaid shirt, dress, or holiday costume regardless of their age? If you've gone to great lengths to hide silly photos that just make you wince, it's time to dig 'em out and celebrate them on a new blog that invites people to share these images online for the whole world to see. "We're getting hundreds of submissions a day from around the world!" says AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com creator Doug Chernack. "It's universal!"

Doug and a friend came up with the idea for the site after his friend described a personal favorite cringe-inducing picture. "There's a photo that's hanging in my dad's office," explains co-creator Mike Bender. "It is one of those ski photos from the 90s and we're all in brightly colored outfits and we're doing like the Rockette's kick with our skis." And soon, AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com was launched. "We wanted to do something that really celebrated the awkwardness!" Mike laughs.
