Make a Bookcase More Decorative

Who ever said bookcases are just for books? Paint the backboard a different color, and then use the bookcase to display your collectibles. A light color behind the items that you're showcasing will make things pop out a little more and add some fun. And if you pull some of your souvenirs and other fun stuff out of your closet, you can have some great conversation pieces artfully displayed. Mix it up with some books, and play with how you lay down the books. Take the paper covers off hardbacks and then put books with a similar color palette next to each other. You can also lay them sidewise to elevate a picture frame or other interesting items.
