Big Love's Bill Paxton
On the hit HBO series Big Love, Bill Paxton plays the polygamist head of the Henrickson clan, a role he jokes that he prepared for early in his life. "As a kid, I remember there was a playgroup in my kindergarten," he recalls, "and I think it was [organized by] my mother and her friends, and they all had daughters so I ended up playing with them every day - I've always had sister-wives around me!"
Though he only has one wife in real life, Bill tells Rachael that there are similarities between his own marriage and that of his on-screen marriage to Jeanne Tripplehorn. "My wife Louise and I have been married about that length of time, so I certainly draw from my own experiences," he says. "We have two children, James who is almost 16 and Lydia who is almost 12, and I find when I'm doing scenes with Doug Smith who plays my older son on the show, I really feel like I'm just talking with James."
"I hope you don't have the same issues [with James] that you're having with your son on the show!" Rachael jokes, referring to Bill Henrickson's son falling for one of his father's wives.
"Not yet!" Bill laughs.
