"Can I Wear ... Fall Fashions?"

The 80s are totally back in fashion, including some trends most of us never expected to see again in our lifetime! "MC Hammer pants?" Rachael asks, after showing a pair of the baggy pants made famous by the 80s rapper to her fashion buddy Gretta. "That's really among the things that are back?" Gretta shares Rach's surprise, but says there are new chic ways to wear "Hammer" pants to the office or on date-night! Still not convinced? Get her tips below for wearing these and fall's other hot trends.

Can I Wear ... Power Shoulders? "I'm afraid I'm going to put on a power shoulder and I'm going to walk in and I'm going to look like a linebacker," says 33-year-old Tiffany. Despite her hesitations, the mother of two wants to give it a try, so Gretta offers the perfect strategy for this style. She says you can avoid looking too masculine in this Dynasty-inspired look by sticking to soft fabrics. Plus, big shoulders can do wonders for your figure. "If you're pear shaped, which many of us are, you're going to add volume where you need it," Gretta says. "What do you get? A nice tiny waste!" Tiffany tries out the look and is an instant fan: "I'm so comfortable. I feel great!"

Can I Wear ... Neon? Curvy girl Nia, 33, is ready to return to the 80s with neon, but is concerned something so bright will have the opposite effect of the slimming dark colors she usually favors. What can she do? Gretta suggests adding just a splash of color by wearing a bright turtleneck under a blazer, or by using a bright belt or clutch bag. "These things are available everywhere inexpensively."

Can I wear ... Carrot Pants? New mom Arika, 31, used to be a trendy New Yorker, but now finds herself resorting to sweat pants to hide her baby belly. Are baggy "carrot top" pants (or "Hammer" pants) a good alternative? "You know I never lie," Gretta says. "To me this is the single most difficult trend of the season. Here's the bottom line: Not many of us want to add volume to the hip and rear area!" Still, she says the style can work for any height, warning shorter ladies to try simpler versions that are shaped more like slacks with less volume in the waist.
