A Surprise for One Special Cook

Mary Wren makes sure that the 50 boys at 17th Avenue House, a student community house in Seattle, never go hungry. She prepares three meals a day, five days a week -- that's 3,000 meals a month for the boys she looks after! And her hard work doesn't go unnoticed. When the students learned that Mary was a fan of Rachael's, they wrote the producers a letter about all the work she does for them and each student contributed a paragraph about what Mary means to him. "It was very important to honor Mary like this," says one of the students. "She's one of the most deserving people -- she works so hard, and this is just one way to show her how much we love her."

Rachael decides to help the boys show their appreciation for Mary by surprising her with a trip to New York to be on the show! Watch the video to see Mary's emotional reaction.
