Gourds Go Glamorous
Tools and Materials:
• Kraft Paper
• Dried Gourds - available from amishgourds.com
• Fine Sandpaper
• White Primer
• Paintbrush
• Glossy Spray paint or spray enamel
How-To:
• Cover work surface with paper.
• Clean gourds with damp cloth, and sand off imperfections.
• Paint gourds with primer. Let dry overnight.
• Spray sections of gourds with glossy paint or enamel. Let dry for 3 hours. Turn gourds to spray unpainted areas. Let dry overnight.
Glittered Gourds, Leaves and Acorns
Tools and Materials:
• Gourds, silk leaves, pumpkins
• Paintbrush
• Tacky Glue
• Large shallow bowl
• Ultrafine opaque glitter
• A spoon
• Plate or tray for drying
How-To:
• Cover work surface with paper.
• Using a paintbrush, apply tacky glue to gourds, leaves or pumpkins.
• Hold object over a bowl filled with glitter.
• Spoon glitter over glued surface, making sure the glitter falls into all the crevices and any excess lands back in the bowl.
• Let dry for at least an hour. Tap or brush off any excess glitter.
• Repeat with other side.
• Touch up other areas as needed.
