The Diet Detective
"It's my life's mission to get people to live a healthier lifestyle and I'll use unusual tactics to get my way!" says Charles Platkin, the host of the WE TV series I Want to Save Your Life. He's known as the "Diet Detective" because he spies on the show's participants to uncover all of their eating habits before he helps them overhaul their lifestyle and lose weight. Rachael decides to have him investigate her staff's eating habits and invites Charles to spy on them backstage! Click on the video to see how they do!
"You have some healthy treats and some that are not so healthy," Charles says, after observing her staff. "There's Phil from the art department ... he's taken nothing healthy from this table," he says, noting the young staffer nibbled 12 times in 90 minutes! "What you're doing now is setting behaviors," the diet guru says, as he advises Phil to add some fruit to his diet and get on the right track for his life. "You want to set a good tone."
Rachael asks for his top piece of advice for those who are trying to lose weight, and he says the key is actually not about diet or exercise. "I think one of the most important things is understanding the reason why - why do you want to lose weight? You need to really understand that and keep it right in the forefront of that process."
