Taking the Fear Out of Breast Cancer Tests

Ever since Lana watched a childhood friend lose her mother to breast cancer, Lana has been anxious about about getting tested for the disease. "It was so hard because she was like a mother to me," Lana explains. "If she would have had the early detection test then she would probably still be with us today."

So Dr. Lisa Masterson, the ObGyn specialist on a brand new show called The Doctors offers a groundbreaking new test to Lana. "Every single woman needs to know about this procedure," she says as she describes the Halo, which can catch precancerous cells before a tumor appears, saving potentially hundreds of thousands of lives. "Just like a pap smear checks for abnormal cells, this checks for abnormal breast cells," explains Dr. Masterson. "This is on the cutting edge of medicine to try to decrease breast cancer."

After Dr. Masterson shares with Lana that her test results are normal -- a huge relief for Lana -- she offers one final piece of advice. "What I hope women will take from this is to act now. Don't be afraid to learn the truth about your body."
