On the hit HBO series Boardwalk Empire, Gretchen Mol plays an Atlantic City showgirl with a bit of a dark side, a role which is a welcome departure for the actress. "I've spent so much of my career playing sweethearts and nice girls and wives and girlfriends," she tells Rachael, "so it's really fun to play someone who has some viciousness and some issues!”
