Real-life Army veteran Mark Valley plays a tough private contractor/security expert/bodyguard on Fox's Human Target, but he jokes that acting is a far cry from his days of studying math at West Point: "Yeah, it wasn't like, 'What are you going to do with that math degree?' ... Maybe I'll try to get a TV show!"

Mark explains how his first step into acting took place when he was in Germany with the Army. "I was stationed in Berlin, and right after the wall came down, a lot of movies started coming into town because it used to be a big film center," he says. "I ended up working as an extra on a film - it wasn’t like I was just discovered and swept off - that’s when I thought to myself, 'Wow, I’d really like to join [this] circus!'"
