The Raising Sextuplets Family
Imagine changing 200 diapers, making 84 bottles and doing 25 loads of laundry every week! For Jenny and Bryan Masche, that's what it takes to raise their family of sextuplets. Their hectic lives with six 2-year-olds are documented on WeTV's Raising Sextuplets, a hit show now heading into its second season. Rachael asks the couple if there is such a thing as a typical day in their household. "Absolutely not!" Bryan states. "It's always crazy," Jenny adds. "Every single day."
Despite the chaos, Jenny and Bryan still find a way to get some alone time together. "We're pretty lucky actually," Jenny says, "that we have some really good friends. They'll come over and give us a break. Our last night date night was so we could do our taxes together!"
Bryan laughs: "Very romantic!"
Joking aside, the Masches know the importance of maintaining a good relationship, particularly in light of Jon and Kate Gosselin's very public split. "This was a real wakeup call for us," Brian says. "Like, wow, we've got to be really careful." Jenny explains a few of the steps they've taken to guard against going through what the Gosselins went through. "We do a lot of work," she says. "Date night, counseling with our pastor, we go to a great church, have a strong faith in God." Bryan adds, "We never do anything alone with someone of the opposite sex, never try to spend more than three or four days apart from each other."
Brian sums up the couple's philosophy for having a successful family: "We both agree that if we can't be healthy with each other there's no way that we can be healthy with the kids. Our relationship has to be right, otherwise there's no way we can be correct for the kids."
