Extreme diets may promise quick fixes, but do they work? Dr. Ian is breaking them down and showing you his go-to breakfast smoothie from his Shred: Revolutionary Diet book, that’s low in calories and big on taste.

Dr. Ian's Tasty and Healthy Smoothie
1/2 frozen banana, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 1/2 tablespoons flax seed
1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt
1/2 cup nonfat milk
1 teaspoon honey

Place all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth.
