Usually when the Desperate Housewives ladies stop by the set, Rachael is eager to chat about their adorable co-stars. But for Felicity Huffman's latest visit, it's a different group of cuties that are getting all of the attention -- rescue cats and dogs in need of homes. "Heartbreakers!" Rachael squeals as Felicity picks out one in particular. "Kahlua has spent the morning with me," Felicity explains, "because I have been trying to convince my husband to adopt him!"
It's all part of Felicity's work with the Iams Home 4 the Holidays campaign to get one million pets adopted from shelters in time for the new year and spare the lives of so many animals. "Of those million dogs ... 750,000 of them would have been put down," she says. Iams wants to make it easy for people to adopt and care for these pets. "They show you how to pet proof your home, how to introduce your pet to your children, how to train it, and how to do follow through so it's this long successful adoption," Felicity explains. "I appreciate that because dogs are a lot of work and you want it to be successful."
Two years ago, Felicity adopted Tucker, and the dog has become an integral part of her family. "Our girls love him," she says. "They take care of him and bathe him often and put bows in his hair." And Tucker is in good company in this animal-loving family. "We adopted a hamster and then we adopted a rabbit," Felicity says. "And, now the rabbit is riding the dog around much to the dog's dismay ... I don't know what's going on!"
