Gretta’s New Mom Makeover
"Before the baby was born, my style was causal, flirty, fun," says 39-year-old Kim, who is thrilled to have a newborn baby girl, but taking care of her bundle of joy is taking a toll on her own sense of style. "Since the baby has come it's sweats, sweats and more sweats!" Kim's entire day is spent feeding, changing and playing with her little girl, and she could use a bit of pampering. "I'm just too tired to take care of myself. I just want to feel fresh right now and good about myself, and not just a milk machine. I would love to get back to who I used to be."
Rachael introduces her to fellow new mom Gretta, who can totally relate to her experience. "Give that woman an applause, please!" Gretta asks of the audience, which includes Kim's husband and baby. Gretta says she can understand Kim's fatigue from feeding the baby and jokes the whole process can leave a new mom feeling anything but sexy. "You feel like a cow!" Gretta jokes. "You love it and it’s the best thing ... but at the same time you feel like you’ve lost yourself."
Gretta is eager to help Kim get her style back, and suggests a shorter haircut which is easier to maintain, along with new highlights. "Best medicine ... to give a little perk when you’re not getting any sleep? A couple of highlights, don't overdo it, but a little warmth really warms up the skin. And she said, 'I don’t have time for makeup, Gretta,' and this is the way you’re going to add a little bit of cosmetics that is easy!"
