Gwyneth Paltrow
Academy Award®-winner Gwyneth Paltrow is at the kitchen table for the first time and immediately offers-up juicy tidbits about her life, including naming the guy who gave the best smooch among all of her hot leading men. "I did a little cameo once at the beginning of Austin Powers 3, I think it was, and I got to make out with Tom Cruise," she recalls. "He was an amazing kisser!"
Her real-life leading man is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, so Rachael asks how he and her two kids reacted when she started practicing the guitar for her new movie, Country Strong. "They didn't kick me out, which they easily could have done when I was starting!" she jokes. She mastered the licks and filmed performance scenes as this country superstar staging a comeback after a stint in rehab. When asked how she prepared for the role, the actress jokes, "You just get really drunk all the time - which is awesome - at least I did anyway, maybe it's not very professional!"
The 38-year-old also hit some high notes last year as a substitute teacher on the hit TV series, Glee. She hopes to return to the high school for another episode and raves about the experience. "When I went on set I was kind of starstruck because everyone is so amazing!" She also has plenty of opportunities to break into song at home with her kids. "My son is really shy, but he sings all day long!" she says, of the 4-year-old. Her daughter, 6, is also doing her share of performing. "She's really chatty and she's really funny!"
Next on Gwyneth's list is to release a collection of recipes in her book, My Father's Daughter, due out in April. "My father and I learned to cook together, we started when I was like 18 years old, and we got really into watching The Food Network," she says, recalling her late father, Bruce Paltrow. "He kind of taught me that just eating a meal with the people that you love is like the biggest success in life ... and I cook all the meals in my house, so I decided to make a book of the food that I make over and over, kind of in honor of my dad."
"Will you come back and cook when the cookbook comes out?" Rachael asks, and Gwyneth quickly replies, "I'd love to!"
